Equal Measures 2030 believes in the power of making data more compelling, accessible and available for gender equality champions worldwide. We teamed up with Tableau Public and the Makeover Monday community to help us do just that.

Every Monday, enthusiastic data visualizers from all over the world are given a data set and asked to improve and strengthen the way the data are communicated. In late September, they were given Equal Measure 2030’s Global Advocates Survey data and asked to #VisualizeEquality.

The response was tremendous, and data visualizations were shared live during our launch of the new SDG Gender Index, Gender Advocates Data Hub and Global Report 2018 on the side-lines of the U.N. General Assembly in New York.

This was our second collaboration with the Makeover Monday community this year. The previous collaboration required data volunteers to visualize data that show policymakers’ knowledge and understanding about key issues impacting girls and women.

Here are some of our favorites from this round (Disclaimer: The data visualizations below are made by individuals participating in Makeover Monday’s data visualization challenge, and are not a product of EM2030.
